SUMIFUDE
"SUMIFUDE" is Satomi Suzuki's pen name for making art. Taking the concept of the printing block in a broad sense, and not limiting the medium to "woodblocks and paper," she captures Japanese culture and nature in a cross-disciplinary manner.
She has exhibited both in Japan and abroad, including a solo exhibition in the tokonoma (alcove) of the Kyoto Shoin and at the Milano Salone. She has been selected for the Krakow International Print Triennial, the International Woodblock Print Exhibition, and the Grand Prize in the Design Division of the Kyoto Confectionary Exhibition. She received her M.F.A. from Tokyo University of the Arts.
