How to hang non-woven wallpaper with removable double-sided tape, perfect for renters
Preparation before application
What you need
- double-sided tape
- Smoother
- cutter
- Trim Guide
- Bamboo folder
- stepladder
- Screwdriver
- Tape measure
Remove what can be removed
- Remove the outlet cover plate.
- When you remove the cover plate, the plate underneath also needs to come off, so use a screwdriver to remove it.
- This is OK. Remove anything else that can be removed, such as curtain rails and hooks.
Apply double-sided tape to the wall
- Apply tape to all four sides of the wall.
- Apply the tape straight and vertically so that it matches the width of the wallpaper and is exactly in the middle of the seam. (about 50cm)
- If you want to securely fix it, we recommend adding tape horizontally at 50cm intervals in a ladder shape.
- If there are any obstructions like switches or outlets, place tape around them as well.
- Use a smoother to firmly press the tape onto the wall.
Paste the first sheet
- Peel off the backing paper from the double-sided tape. (Peel off the top and bottom tapes by the width of the first sheet of wallpaper.)
- Unfold the wallpaper and lift it up.
- Apply wallpaper leaving an extra 5cm on top.
- Stick the wallpaper along the left edge, then peel it off to adjust it.
- Smooth out any wrinkles while smoothing the center from left to right, and press the wallpaper into the wall
- Next, smooth out any wrinkles from the center, then smooth the wallpaper up, down, left and right with your hands.
Cut off excess
- Cut the wallpaper you don't need from the roll.
- Press the Bamboo folder firmly against the corners to create creases.
- Cut off the excess with a cutter
POINT: There is a correct direction for placing the trim guide. Insert the sharp end of the blade into the corner and point the rounded end in the direction you will cut.
Paste the second and subsequent sheets
- Peel off the backing paper from the double-sided tape.
- From the second piece onwards, stick it against the adjacent wallpaper so that the pattern matches, and hang it in the same way as the first piece.
Attach the last one
- Remove the backing from the remaining tape on the wall.
- Stick the wallpaper onto the wall so that the pattern matches the adjacent wallpaper.
- Once the seams are attached, first crease the wallpaper along the edge vertically, then fold the excess wallpaper onto itself and crease it along the edge horizontally.
- Cut off excess wallpaper both vertically and horizontally.
Smooth
- Finally, press the wallpaper with a smoother or roller.
Around Obstacles
- Be sure to apply tape securely around any obstacles.
- For round shapes, make small radial cuts from the outside to the center.
- Make a cut for the outlet as shown by the red line.

Installation precautions
It is recommended to install wallpaper and sliding doors on rainy days.
If you apply it on a day with low humidity, wrinkles will be more likely to occur.
If you install it on a rainy day or by increasing the humidity in the room with a humidifier and letting the wallpaper get used to the humidity, the finish will be beautiful.
We recommend patterns that don't show wrinkles easily.
When using tape, there is a small adhesive surface area between the wall and the tape, so wrinkles are inevitable.
We recommend installing wallpaper with a pattern that will not show wrinkles easily.
