How to use Mataharu-kun
- Cut your wallpaper to the length you want it. Cut the first piece to the height of the ceiling + 10 cm.
Since you will match the second and subsequent sheets to the pattern of the first one you hang, cut according to the length of the ceiling + vertical repeat (vertical size of the pattern). - Transfer Mataharu-kun into a bucket or other container.
- Apply Mataharu-kun to the back of the wallpaper with a roller. The adhesive strength tends to weaken especially at the edges, so use a brush or similar tool to apply a thick coat.
POINT: As a guide, apply one thick coat of Mataharu-kun for each piece of imported wallpaper. (approx. 5㎡)
- After applying the glue, spread it out and leave it aside to dry for about half a day. You will know it's ready to hang if it has become about as sticky as a sticky note..
- If your hanging surface is dirty, it may cause poor adhesion, so please wipe it off thoroughly before applying.
- Fold the glued sides together like an accordian. This will make it easier to lift when pasting.
- Fold the wallpaper accordion-like and unfold it, then apply it to the wall starting from one edge.
*If the adhesive strength is weak, repeat steps 3 and 4 to make it stronger. - Use a squeegee to remove the air and press the wallpaper down.
- Use a squeegee to crease the wallpaper.
- While using the squeegee, use a snap blade knife to cut off the excess wallpaper at the top and bottom of the wall.
- For the second and subsequent sheets, repeat steps 6 to 10.
- Place a seam roller on the seam and smooth it down.
After using Mataharu-kun, the wallpaper can be peeled off the wall.
